Amid the COVID-19 crisis, we are receiving daily updates about the medical supply shortages that put our doctors, nurses, and health care support staff at risk. In response, Abbie Ross Designs is halting production of her fashions to mass-produce face masks for donation to front-line workers. Our team has conducted research to obtain instructions to produce the most effective fabrics and construction techniques. Please note that these masks are NOT meant to replace N95 and surgical face masks. There is no guarantee of protection against COVID-19 or any other illness. However, the face masks do extend below the chin and cover the sides of the face. They include a pocket in which we have placed filter material to aid in blocking micro particles, and have a metal rim at the bridge of the nose that can be adjusted to fit the nose more closely. They are washable and reusable.
We have received inquiries from friends and followers about how they can help. What we need most are donations to fund this endeavor. All proceeds from your donations will be used to purchase the necessary materials for the face masks and to deliver them to the health care facilities (hospitals, nursing homes, retirement homes, etc.).
We will also be selling face masks for individual purchase at $10 each. Please direct message me if you are interested in purchasing a face mask.
